Jiangsu Weather: Part-humid and Part-tropical

Jiangsu Weather: Part-humid and Part-tropical

Visitors in Jiangsu would really find the weather in the whole province very comfortable, for its year round temperature averages around 13 degrees to 16 degrees Celsius. The province is aptly described as having a semi-humid and subtropical climate, and it is indeed since lies within the reaches of the temperate and subtropical zones. The best seasons for visiting are during the spring and autumn seasons, and at late spring, plums can be seen ripening – as such “plum rains” are common during that time. There is also a season of “mould rains”, when the climate is too damp and with the right temperature, molds easily grow everywhere. It is not unusual to encounter frequent short rains with the touch of the sunshine.

It is not really much of a wonder why this province has since been inhabited several dynasties back. The province embraces the Yangtze River delta, as well as the Taihu and Hongze freshwater lakes. There are some hilly lands at the borders of the province, but in general, a large parcel of the land is even below sea level. The bodies of water provide enough irrigation to sustain agriculture, which made this fertile land a cradle of civilization for a long time.
